P R Reddall argues that the decline of traditional values in the West can be countered by focusing on personal growth and self-improvement, fostering individual integrity and congruence in the fight against secularism and cultural erosion.

Every genuine spiritual practice has at its core the concept of developing that which lies within; it is an esoteric notion which is at the heart of religion and has worked its way into all sorts of areas from ‘self help’ to psychology and sport.

Unfortunately, this deep aspect of inner work has largely been forgotten in recent times. Religion has been reduced to a set of rules for behaviour and even such things as martial arts clubs tend towards simply learning moves rather than going into the warrior ethos from whence the art came.

When the awakening individual steps back and looks at modern society, it will be noticed that almost everything has been given the same secular treatment – from television programmes to the workplace, all has been whitewashed with base ideas. This is the danger of atheism. On the face of things, atheism can seem highly logical and rational, yet it misses the underpinning nature of who we are and our reason for being.

It can be very easy to cast blame due to anger at what is not right in society, and quite frankly we do have enemies that hold the power to influence and guide institutions. Woke organisations, companies and governments now hold the opposite of a ‘can do’ attitude with the result that even quite straightforward goal-oriented actions become bogged down.

Readers of Arktos publications will have an ideology or at least be working towards refining an ideology which theoretically has the potential to cure the ills of our folk and restore Western nations to a state of wholeness and wellbeing. Yet at present we do not hold great amounts of political power. This presents a problem; we have the ideology and we know where we would like to be, but how do we get there when practically all institutions (political, religious and corporate) are compromised?

The first and most important stage is for us to work on our individual deep internal mechanics. This will be incredibly difficult. To look in the mirror and be honest with oneself takes a lot of courage.

The hard truth is that many modern men are living a lie. In general terms, incongruence abounds; heroism and risk-taking are lacking; physicality is in decline; stress and cortisol are high; testosterone is low; gender roles overlap to the point where there may as well be no gender recognition at all; consuming content has replaced creating anything real, and men just don’t have fun anymore. In mitigation, we have been fed and watered with estrogenic chemicals and have been mentally bombarded with psyop after psyop.

At present, we have no workable solution to removing harmful chemicals from our food and water and we cannot fix modern society with a magic wand.

We can, however, begin immediately to work on ourselves. Just as a man of action may exoterically take a spanner to his motorcycle, so too can we work esoterically and fix the only person in the world we have any control over.

Consider this: how can you expect to convince a stranger of your political ideology if the person they are listening to is weak, incongruent, false, single, boring and lacking in any kind of spark? Not living your ideals is a massive red flag.

If this strikes a nerve, this is excellent. Do not react by getting angry. Be stoic and meditate for a moment on why you feel angry and find the issues you need to address. Normal insecurities point clearly to the areas one needs to work on. The key is to actually do the work. Stop wasting time and take action.

Imagine for a moment that you meet with a LARPer. This man is dressed up as a Viking berserker or an SS Standartenführer. Immediately you would feel suspicious. He may look the part but at a deep level you know something isn’t right. Without being congruent, everything that man says and does appears false. He is Walter Mitty. You would not trust him.

The purpose of the above imaginary exercise is to develop an understanding of what is real and what is not. Some men, having spent years believing their own bullshit, manage to marry, whereupon over time the lady slowly comes to realise that her husband wasn’t the man she thought he was. Women are evolved to suss out incongruent men; in earlier times, their survival depended upon this intuitive feminine skill. If you happen to be married, then treat your wife’s uncanny ability to find your weaknesses not as something to be angry about but as something that is hard-wired into female nature… learn from it and fix it. It will reap great dividends in your life.

If a combined political and spiritual ideology is to be built (and then, most importantly, to thrive and endure), the building blocks must be crafted via the internal mechanics of ideological men. Men shall build it and drive it forwards; women nurture the result and ensure it passes from generation to generation.

We are in this together. Stop blaming what you cannot control and get to work on your internal mechanics.

P R Reddall

P R Reddall grew up in the industrial midlands, but a love of the countryside saw him move to a small village in the west of England where he presently lives with his wife, three children and dog. Always pagan in his views, he came upon the faith of Odinism in his late teens. It appealed to his sense of natural order and offered a logical folkish lineage to gods and ancestors. He leads a small Odinist hearth, enjoys hikes in the mountains, lifting weights, riding his motorcycle and playing the guitar.

Just read the article and there is much to take in, Julius Evola warned against dry abstract armchair intellectuals, I find myself spending far too much time thinking and not enough doing, what I’m trying to say is I’m far from perfect, and could do with ordering my life better.

However on a lighter note my mother was Norwegian and I have no wish to wear a SS uniform or even a Viking outfit!

I love that you can depict complex ideas plainly, without ego, with nuance, from an individuated perspective instead of a reactive one… but with respect for the individual as part of the whole. Very balanced and shows a lot of care for the reconnection of men and women instead of fueling grievance positions.

I broke my social media break just to share this to a group of discouraged right wing women to show them a very impressive masculine take.

This is solid, powerful advice! P R Reddall needs to be read and internalized by our young men, especially!
