Gemma O’Doherty is an award-winning Irish journalist who spent almost 20 years as a Chief Features writer at the Irish Independent. She has exposed cases of murder and child sexual abuse that were hidden by An Garda Siochana and the State. O’Doherty holds a Masters degree from UCD and was the first journalist to support Garda whistleblowers Maurice McCabe and John Wilson. She also uncovered former Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan’s misuse of road safety laws for personal gain.
